Square Soy Wax Candle in Concrete with Lid

Square Soy Wax Candle in Concrete with Lid is a soy wax candle in a hand-cast square concrete jar with a wavy rim. The lid keeps dust off the wax between uses, and the wooden wick burns with a calm flame and a soft crackle.

First burn:
The first time you light the candle, let it burn until the whole surface has melted, usually 2–3 hours. The wax then melts evenly and does not tunnel around the wick.

Lid:
Never put the lid on a burning candle. While the candle burns, set the lid aside on a heat-resistant surface. Put it back only after the candle is out and the wax has cooled.

After the candle:
Once the candle has burned down and cooled, remove the remaining wax with a wooden stick. The concrete vessel stays for small things, jewellery or as a cover pot for a small plant.

Handmade:
Each vessel is cast by hand from concrete, so the shade, small pores and air bubbles vary from piece to piece and may differ from the photos. Soy wax can set with a matte, slightly uneven surface. These are natural features of the materials, not defects.

Care:
Concrete is porous: wipe it with a dry, soft cloth and do not put it in the dishwasher. Use a mat under the vessel on delicate surfaces.

Safety:
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from curtains, paper, decorations, children and pets. Burn it on a stable, heat-resistant surface in a ventilated room, away from draughts, at least 10 cm from other candles. Before each use, remove the charred tip of the wooden wick and trim it to about 3–5 mm. Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. The concrete vessel gets hot while the candle burns: do not move it until it has cooled. Stop burning when about 1 cm of wax remains. Do not put the flame out with water.
