Candle sand. A candle you pour.
Fine wax granules in eight numbered colours. Pour them into any glass, push in a wick and light it. When it burns down, top up and light it again.
Eight colours
Every colour comes in 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg bags with cotton wick. Six have a soft pearl shimmer. N° 01 and N° 04 are matte.
Pour your own glass
Tap a colour to pour a layer. Every layer is one 250 g bag. Stack up to four, then put exactly those bags in your cart.
Your glass is empty. Pick a first colour.
How it works
- Pour the sand into a heat-resistant glass, bowl or old candle jar, at least 5 cm deep.
- Cut 4 cm of wick and push it in, leaving about 1 cm above the sand.
- Light it. The sand around the wick melts into a small pool of wax.
- When it has cooled, lift out the hard wax, top up with fresh sand and add a new wick.
Questions about candle sand
What vessel can I use?
Any non-flammable, heat-resistant vessel: thick glass, ceramic, stone or metal. Do not use wood, plastic or thin glass.
How many wicks do I need?
One wick for a narrow glass. In a wide bowl, place several wicks at least 5 cm apart and 3 cm from the wall.
Can I mix colours?
Yes. Layer them in a clear glass or pour them side by side in a bowl. Where the wax melts around the wick, the colours it touches blend.
Is it reusable?
Yes. After each use, lift out the hardened wax, add fresh sand and a new wick. The unburnt sand stays in the vessel.
Will the colour stain?
The colour sits on the surface of the granules, so it can mark hands and porous surfaces. Pour from the bag or use a spoon, and protect unsealed wood, stone and fabric.
